In high school, she took classes in creative writing and then decided to go into journalism since she thought she stood a better chance earning a living in that field as opposed to the rough and tumble of fiction. As a six-year-old, she had written “How to Eat Mud Pie” and followed it up with several other short stories that were folded and stapled together by her mother. While it was only in college that Lindsay started seriously thinking of becoming a professional writer, the signs that she would be one were there from very early on. It was from this point that she started thinking of becoming an author. As a college student, he found inspirational fiction and it was not long before she was devouring everything, she could get her hands on. Harrel remembers sneaking into her mother’s room to try to read the books and always getting caught. She would always get her parents to buy her a stack of novels that she would read on the road to her grandparents’ place in Oklahoma. Right from when she was a child, she could not get enough of books. Harrel was the nerdy child who was always excited about learning and one of the very few who loved it when she had to go back to school at the end of every summer.
